MANUFACTURING VARIATIONS

The Company rugs are individually hand made and hand woven items and as such they are subject to the following variations, which are not considered manufacturing faults:
Size – being a hand made article, the size can vary by +/-3% from the size ordered.
Colour – Our rugs are made primarily from natural and undyed fibers. Every effort is made to ensure there is minimal colour variation however some variation can be expected. (5% is the Australian Standard for Carpet Colour variation). Charcoal colour products will fade in natural light/sunlight. Please note that some colour may transfer on light coloured surfaces. Rotate your rug to minimize damage caused by natural light.
Design & Construction – Minor variations may be evident, which is due to the fact that the rug is a hand made item including line/ weave thickness.
Shading – Occurs due to changes in pile and weave direction and is a natural characteristic of carpets and rugs.
Shedding – Our hand made rugs are made from all natural fibres. Natural fibre rugs will initially shed loose fibers, this is normal. The removal of any loose fibres will be hastened by regular vacuuming using a good quality upright vacuum cleaner.
Pop ups- Due to the nature of type of weaving, there will be short fibres popping up while the rug settles. This can be trimmed or pushed through.

WARRANTY

The Company does not provide a warranty on the product, however manufacturing faults do occur and the product will be replaced if it does fall into the manufacturing variations as noted above.

ABOUT US

Since its inception in 2010, Aussbond has established itself as the finest source of area rugs made from natural fibers—including jute, wool and coir etc. A family business, we are founded on the principle that only sustainable uses of the earth’s natural resources can be tolerated. We do not sell direct to consumers. We sell exclusively wholesale.
The astonishing renewability and versatility of natural fibres creates lots of new ecologically positive possibilities at a time when they are desperately needed. It’s our mission to bring these wonderful resources to as wide an audience as possible.

SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability is a concept that is a cornerstone upon which our company is built. The natural materials we use to make our rugs and chairmats are highly renewable. But, this will only remain to be the case if we insist on the implementation of responsible harvesting standards and manufacturing methods. We take seriously our shared stewardship of the environment and work diligently with our factories and suppliers to source only natural materials that are harvested and processed in an environmentally sensitive manner.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Aussbond contributes both funds and merchandise to several local, non-profit organizations in Kerala,India where our manufacturing units are proudly located.

NATRAL FIBRES

Natural fibers have been used by mankind for millennia to create a myriad of useful products. It makes perfect sense that in the pre-industrial world this would be so.

Care and Cleaning

To maintain the original beauty and to prolong the life of your jute rug, vacuuming once or twice weekly is very important. This will regularly remove the fine dirt particles that can lodge between the fibers and cause additional wear.
